January updates in Cleve!!

1st Feb update: We pushed a crazy number of updates in January. Pretty much every week there was a major feature/improvement shipped on Cleve.ai ⬇️🧵

If you’re new here, Cleve is exactly what google docs /apple notes would have been like if it was built ground up with AI.

(Or if you’re familiar with the coding world then it’s like Cursor for writing)

You have your personal AI agent that acts as a co-writer and works with you in creating your work, and it has context on everything about you like a really good assistant.

In the last few months we invested more time into R&D, lots of experimentation, testing differerent features and directions.

After getting to a point where 90% of our user tests end up with them being really mind blown and even weeks after our calls, we started aggressively focusing on polishing the experience.

That’s why we’ve started really focusing on the details in January

1/ Stability

This is extremely important to us. We’ve invested most of our time towards reliability.

• 🧠 Developing our context engine (Cleve’s brain) to be way smarter and remember you better

2/ Appearance and Personalisation

We made a ton of improvements to the Cleve interfaces and added a bunch of pretty fun things to make your writing workspace really feel like yours.

• ☀️Light mode: Cleve now follows your system default and looks great
• 🕹️Simplified navigation: Folders and docs. That’s it. With 100% sync to the mobile app.
• 📟 Cleaner UI across all surfaces

3/ Andddd new features

Ok actually though I said we wanted to focus on stability we still managed to ship quite a lot of really cool features too

• ✍️Edit mode: When toggled, Cleve can edit your docs directly and create new docs for you. Ask it to change the hook, rewrite. This is actually magical and our user’s fav feature.
• 🎙️Superfast Voice: Braindump your thoughts on the writing area first to get started with your own ideas. Or Use the mic in the AI chat to just tell the agent what to change and it’ll make those changes.
• 🍳 Skills: (beta) Cleve can become extremely good at specific things. Save your favourite prompts for LinkedIn writing, SEO, polishing into easy to access skills or browse our library.
• 🗂️ Folders in folders: You can now organise your Cleve docs in folders and drag and drop to move them into other folders. Eg. Your social media folder could contain your strategy docs, posts, braindumps and more.
• 🪢 Sharing and collaboration: Still in beta, but you can share your notes to your friends who are already on Cleve
• ⌨️ Keyboard shortcuts: Navigate between notes, create a new note from anywhere instantly and just move crazy fast.
• 🗄️ Local sync, Obsidian import markdown support and full export

And we’re just getting started. 2026 is gonna be fun.
